Privacy Policy

1. Who this covers

This policy explains how Recog Omni LLC ("Recog Omni", "we", "us") handles personal information in Podium Sports Pools ("Podium", the "App"), our sports prediction pool app for iOS, Android, and the web. It applies to the App and to this website.

Recog Omni LLC is the data controller for the information described here. If you disagree with this policy, please stop using the App.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

Podium is a group game, so it requires an account. Depending on how you sign in, we collect:

• Email address — when you create an account with email and password, or from your Google or Apple account when you use single sign-on.
• Display name — so other players in your pool can tell who is who on the leaderboard.
• Profile picture URL — if your Google or Apple account supplies one. We store the link to that image, not a copy of the image itself. Podium has no camera or photo library access and cannot read photos from your device.

You can also use Podium as a guest, in which case we create an anonymous account identified only by a random ID, with no email or name attached until you choose to sign up properly.

2.2 Information you create in the App

• Your picks and predictions — the match outcomes you select each round, and the points they earn.
• Tournaments you create or join — the pool name, its scoring rules, its season, and who is participating.

Your picks and your position on the leaderboard are visible to the other participants in that pool. They are not public, and they are not visible to anyone outside it.

2.3 Information collected automatically

• Account and device identifiers — the account ID we generate for you, a Firebase installation ID, and your device's advertising ID (see section 5).
• App interaction and diagnostic data — which screens you open, session length, app version, device model, operating system version, and general region. This is collected automatically by Google Analytics for Firebase.
• Crash logs — when the App crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics records the technical details: the stack trace, the device state at the time, and recent diagnostic log lines.
• Push notification tokens — if you allow notifications, we store the token your device needs to receive pick reminders. Deny the permission and no token is stored.
• Anti-abuse signals — Firebase App Check uses Play Integrity on Android and App Attest on iOS to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the App rather than a script.

3. How we use it

• To run the App — authenticate you, keep your pools and picks in sync across your devices, calculate standings, and show them to the other players in your pool.
• To send you reminders — a notification before picks lock and another when results are in, if you have allowed notifications.
• To keep the App working — investigate crashes, fix bugs, and measure whether a release made things better or worse.
• To show ads — see section 5.
• To process payments — see section 6.
• To prevent abuse — block automated or fraudulent access to the service.

We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not sell it.

4. Service providers

We use the following third parties to operate Podium. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

• Firebase Authentication (Google) — manages sign-in and holds your credentials.
• Cloud Firestore (Google) — stores your profile, pools, and picks.
• Cloud Functions for Firebase (Google) — runs our server logic, including fetching fixtures and resolving scores.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push notifications.
• Google Analytics for Firebase — collects app interaction and diagnostic data, including device and advertising identifiers.
• Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and diagnostic logs.
• Firebase App Check, with Google Play Integrity and Apple App Attest — verifies requests come from a genuine app instance.
• Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform — serve ads and collect your advertising consent choices.
• Stripe, Inc. — processes payments.
• Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.) — an optional sign-in method.

Podium also retrieves fixture lists and match scores from football-data.org and TheSportsDB. These requests are made by our servers and contain no personal information about you.

5. Advertising & your choices

Podium is free to play, and ads are part of how we pay for it. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may read your device's advertising identifier — the Advertising ID (AAID) on Android, or the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS — along with general information about your device and the ads you see.

Unlike our other service providers, an ad network is a genuinely separate business rather than a processor acting only on our instructions. We therefore treat advertising identifiers as shared with a third party for advertising purposes, and declare them that way to Google Play.

Turning off personalized ads

You will still see ads, but they will not be tailored to you.

• Android — Settings → Google → All services → Ads → Delete advertising ID, or Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
• iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track. Podium does not track you across other companies' apps and websites, so it does not ask for tracking permission.
• In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland — Podium asks for your consent when you first open it, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can reopen those choices at any time from Settings → Privacy options in the App.

Analytics consent

Where the law requires consent for analytics, the same prompt covers Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. Declining leaves the App fully playable — you simply see non-personalized ads and we collect less diagnostic data.

6. Payments

Pools of up to ten players are free. Larger pools are unlocked by a one-time Season Pass payment made by whoever organizes the pool. It is not a subscription and nothing renews.

Payments are handled by Stripe on a payment page hosted by Stripe. Your card number, expiry date, and security code are entered on Stripe's page and sent directly to Stripe. They never pass through Podium and we never store them.

What we do store is a record that a given tournament was unlocked: the Stripe payment reference, the amount, the date, and which account paid. Stripe processes payments as an independent controller under its own privacy policy.

7. When we share

We share personal information only in these situations:

• With other players in your pool — your display name, avatar, picks, points, and rank are visible to the participants of any tournament you join.
• With the service providers in section 4, to the extent each needs it.
• With advertising partners, as described in section 5.
• Where the law requires it — to comply with a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Recog Omni, our users, or the public.
• In a business transfer — if Recog Omni is acquired or merges, your information may transfer with the business. We will say so before it happens.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the advertising identifiers described in section 5.

8. Legal bases (EEA and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on:

• Performance of a contract — to give you an account and run your pools.
• Consent — for push notifications, for advertising identifiers and personalized ads, and for analytics where consent is required. You can withdraw it at any time.
• Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and free of abuse, and to fix crashes.
• Legal obligation — to retain payment records where tax or accounting law requires it.

9. Retention

• Account and profile — kept while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
• Picks and standings — kept for the life of the tournament they belong to. When you delete your account, your picks are removed from tournaments or anonymized so that other players' historical standings stay intact.
• Push tokens — deleted when you turn off notifications, sign out, or delete your account.
• Crash and analytics data — retained on Google's schedule; Crashlytics reports expire after 90 days, and analytics data is retained for up to 14 months.
• Payment records — retained for up to 7 years where accounting and tax law requires it.

10. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything inaccurate.
• Delete your account and personal information.
• Restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw a consent you previously gave.
• Export your information in a portable format.

Email support@recogomni.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, the rights above satisfy the CCPA/CPRA rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing — and as stated, we do not sell your personal information.

11. Deleting your account

You can delete your Podium account and its data in either of these ways:

1. In the App — go to Settings → Delete account and confirm.
2. By email — write to support@recogomni.com from the address on your account.

Deletion removes your profile, your authentication record, and your push tokens, and detaches your picks as described in section 9. Uninstalling the App on its own does not delete your account, because your pools live on our servers so your friends can keep playing.

12. Children

Podium is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use it, or 16 if you live in a country where that is the minimum age for consenting to data processing.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under those ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us at support@recogomni.com and we will delete it.

13. Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest on Google's infrastructure. Access to your pools and picks is enforced by server-side security rules, so one pool's participants cannot read another's. Firebase App Check rejects requests that do not come from a genuine copy of the App.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant regulators as the law requires.

14. International transfers

Recog Omni LLC operates from the United States, and our Firebase and Stripe infrastructure processes data there. If you use Podium from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

For transfers out of the EEA and UK, our providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

15. Changes

We may update this policy as Podium changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will tell you in the App before it takes effect, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it.
