Where's My Junk? — Mobile Application Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 27, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the Where's My Junk? mobile application (herein referred to as the "App") created by Recog-Omni as a Free service. This service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.

1. Information Collection and Use

The App is designed to be a "local-first" utility. Most information you input into the App is stored exclusively on your mobile device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Local Data (Stored on Device Only)

  • Inventory Data: Names of items, categories, rooms, quantities, and notes are stored in a local database on your device.
  • Photos: When you use the App's camera feature to take photos of your belongings, those images are saved locally to your device's storage. We do not have access to these photos.

Third-Party Data Collection

The App does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. These services are used to provide advertisements, analyze performance, and prevent fraud.

The App uses Google Play Services and AdMob. These services may collect information such as:

  • Device Identifiers: Including the Android Advertising ID (AAID).
  • App Activity: Such as app interactions, ad views, and clicks.
  • App Performance: Including crash logs and diagnostics.

You can find the links to the privacy policy of these third-party service providers below:

2. Permissions

To provide its core functionality, the App requires the following permissions:

  • Camera: To allow you to take photos of your inventory items.
  • Internet & Network State: To load advertisements and report app performance data to our service providers.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Because the App does not require a user account, we do not store your inventory data on any external servers. If you wish to delete all local data associated with the App, you may do so by:

  1. Clearing the App's storage/cache in your device settings.
  2. Uninstalling the App from your device.

Data collected by third-party services (like AdMob) is retained according to their respective privacy policies.

4. Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
